What sort of lessons should I take?

30- 45 minute private lesson once a week:  Singing for fun/hobbyist
*If you just want to enjoy the fun of music lessons this might be for you.
*You want to learn to sing well and have some fun learning some songs.
*You might consider participating in a studio concert but know that it is not compulsory.
*You DO NOT want to complete any singing exams!
*Practice is highly encouraged for progress to be made – at least 15 minutes 5 times a week.

45- 60 minute private lesson once a week:   Singing for the semi serious hobbyist
*You want to learn to sing well and also perform.
*You want to learn songs to perform at studio concerts and might consider participating in something like the local Eisteddfod
*Practice is highly recommended for progress to be made- at least 30 minutes 5 times a week.

60 minute private lesson once a week:   Singing for serious students
.*You want to learn to sing to a high standard.
*You are prepared to learn a range of styles: from classical to contemporary. This helps you as a musician.
*You want to complete music exams.
*You want to participate in competitions.
*You want to participate in any performing opportunity.
*You want to possibly make a career from singing.
*Practice is expected. At least an hour every day.

Casual private lessons:

*You don’t want to commit to a full term of lessons, but would like to have voice lessons on a casual basis.

*You have an audition coming up and you need some extra one on one help.

*You want to try out singing lessons before making a full commitment.
